Good Mental Health Practices in the Arts

SELLING FAST

This is your chance to connect with best practices in the industry.

Each year, the festival aims to engage leading artists in an ever evolving field to bring access to best practices to our community.

Managing mental health and anxiety in the arts is part of being in the Industry. Clinical Psychologist, actor and NIDA graduate, Andrew Keegan will present an exclusive session for the festival which will include activities and awareness of:

  • Identifying negative thoughts, nerves, negative judgments, perfectionism, putting too much pressure on ourselves and how we might manage this.
  • Developing the language and skills to communicate what is going on when we are feeling anxious or nervous or worrying about other people's judgments.
  • Managing nerves, anxiety and communicating needs and getting support in a healthy way.
  • Creating a cohesive and supportive group.
  • Self care and maintaining balance in life as an artist.

This session is open to students, teachers, professionals and community and is part of our free program that aims to positively influence the industry on all levels.
