Malaika (Mal) Mungai-Hayes has been passionately involved in the performing arts since the age of four and is committed to pursuing a professional career in the industry.
Represented by Howard House Management, Mal has trained and competed with KRSD Performing Arts for ten years, taking part in numerous national competitions and performing in nine annual Christmas pantomimes.
Mal trains across a wide range of dance styles including Jazz, Theatre Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Commercial, Highland, and Acro and Tap. She also trains in singing under Samantha Hammersly through KRSDPA and acting/theatre under Mallory Schipper.
In 2025, Mal appeared on ABC’s Teenage Boss: Next Level alongside TV star Emma Watkins. Mal’s recent achievements include the TDE Northern Scholarship (Tasmanian Dance Expo), Most Outstanding Stage Presence (LC), the Photographic Stage Award and Cover of Program (FOD), and Most Outstanding Dancer (FOD).
Her community theatre credits include School of Rock (SPC) as Maddison; The Golden Ticket (KRSDPA); A Christmas Carol (KRSDPA); Midnight: The Cinderella Musical (SPC) ; Billy Elliot (ETC); Frozen (BBTC); & Juliet (John X); Jagged Little Pill (BBTC) currently playing the role of Frankie.
