Lisa Thomas

Originally from Hobart, Lisa trained with Jenina's Dance Workshop, Exitleft Productions, the Musical Theatre Crew (MTC) and performed in many local musicals for MTC, Old Nick Summer Schools, Hobart Repertory Theatre Society and Exitleft Productions.

Lisa moved to Melbourne to commence her formal training at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Music Theatre). During her time at the VCA, Lisa performed at Hamer Hall in Art Centre Melbourne’s Morning Melodies in 2017 and 2018 (dir. Margot Fenley) as a featured vocalist and ensemble member respectively. She was the ensemble swing and dance captain for Melbourne Theatre Company’s Vivid White (dir. Dean Bryant), Val in A Chorus Line (dir. Tyran Parke) and played Granny, Cinderella’s Mother and covered the Witch in Into the Woods (dir. Gary Young).

After graduating, Lisa toured Victorian schools with Perform Education's book week show 'Big Dreams!'. Most recently, Lisa returned to Tassie to play Sophie in Encore Theatre Company’s production of Mamma Mia! (dir. Danny Gibson) for which she was nominated for a Tasmanian Theatre Award.
