James Parker

James is a performer and director based in Launceston

James first landed in Australia in 2014, and as a teen he snagged the Yvonne Lynch Breakthrough Actor award (WA) for his comedy role in the christmas pantomime of 'Aladdin'. Then after moving to Tasmania in 2015, he took leading roles in various productions such as 'Pippin', '9 to 5', 'Mamma Mia', 'The Boy From Oz', and last year he performed in the AMTF's musical production of 'Working'. Whilst he has always had involvement outside of theatre in video production, In the last two years he has truly switched gears, directing both Encore Academy's 'Beauty and the Beast' and Encore Theatre Company's 'The 39 Steps'. And this year he returns to the AMTF, but in a different capacity, to assist on 'The Frogs'.
