Gerard Lane

Gerard Lane is a performer with 26 years of industry experience in film, cabaret, opera, music theatre, theatre, and television.

After graduating from Monash University and the VCA, Gerard has performed all over Australia, Singapore, UK, and Hong Kong.  Now based in Launceston, Gerard is the inaugural Artistic Director of Studio Space Inclusive Arts, who made their Adelaide Fringe tour debut in 2025 with Project Vulcan- which he directed whilst also playing the God of wine and theatre- Bacchus.

Gerard is ecstatic to be part of another Sondheim production with longtime collaborator Amanda Hodder, having met in 2002 working on A funny thing happened on the way to the forum directed by Peter Fitzpatrick. Gerard's involvement with AMTF started in its inaugural year with the workshop production of Any Moment by Bradley McCaw. Other credits include Songs for a new world, Cut outta Town, The Aussie musical showcase, Paper Stars by Miranda Middleton, Grace Chapelle and Luke Bryne and (almost) It's Only Life. In 2025, Launceston audiences saw Gerard play Gutenberg in Gutenberg the Musical presented by DARE collective and directed by Matt Taylor. Gerard is also one half of the musical comedy duo Emergency Poncho. His Television credits include City Homicide, Winners and Losers and Offspring.
