Dan Wilson

Dan is a highly regarded figure in the fields of education and music theatre, earning a nomination for the Telstra ARIA Music Teacher of the Year Award.

His conducting credits includes productions such as Chess – The Musical, Mary Poppins, Mamma Mia!, Billy Elliot, Jersey Boys, School of Rock, Rock of Ages, The Witches of Eastwick, Into The Woods, Oliver, Grease, Annie and Jesus Christ Superstar.

Beyond the conductor’s podium, Dan has showcased his musicianship in the orchestras for the original Australian runs of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera, Disney’s The Lion King and Side By Side By Sondheim, featuring West End star Ruthie Henshall.

Dan’s skills as an arranger, orchestrator and accompanist have been embraced by leading artists including Silvie Paladino, Marina Prior, Debora Krizak, Lucy Durack, Emma Pask, Michael Cormick, Debra Byrne, Avagail Herman, and the Hunter Singers, with his work regularly performed by John Foreman’s Aussie Pops Orchestra as well as the Western Australian, Adelaide, and Queensland Symphony Orchestras. He has also been the Musical Director for the concerts and cabarets such as You Oughta Know: The Songs Of Alanis Morissette, In The Air Tonight: A Night Of Phil Collins, and B & B: A Night of Benny and Bjorn featuring Silvie Paladino.

Dan currently serves as the conductor of the Hunter Pops Orchestra, featured prominently in the SUPERSTARS concert series. The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice (2024), starring Marina Prior, Silvie Paladino, Joshua Robson, and Chloé Zuel, as well as Music Theatre’s Greatest Heroes & Villains (2026), presented in March this year and starring Jemma Rix, Ben Mingay, and Chloé Zuel.
