Lovers & YOUTH

Our Program has been tailored to deepen and celebrate your love of musical theatre.

This is very much aimed at young people who are just learning about the joy of performing or those of any age who are engaging with Musical Theatre at a community level. You may not want to pursue it as a career, but you love it, love to engage socially and want to up-skill so you feel more comfortable in what to bring to your next musical and can best find ease and enjoyment in the process.

Lovers: welcome. Let the show begin.

No matter if you are accomplished or new to singing this class is an opportunity to learn from one of Australia’s best in a supportive, enjoyable environment.

From Festival EP, Tyran Parke; “Each year, as I search Australia for the intake at the Victorian College of the Arts, I look for a particular name on application forms. I know that those taught by Jane Edwards always have a great technical ability but also an inherent musicality and passion for telling stories”.

TIME: 10am - 1pm

WHO: Jane Edwards

COST: $35 full / $25 Student

TN Website_Auditioning for the Musical T

Auditioning is a skill in itself. So many great performers wish to be in ‘the room where it happens’ so they can better understand the best ways to make this inevitable process work for them.

Casting Director, Natalie Gilhome has worked with many children in Professional Musical Theatre including ‘The Secret Garden’, ‘The Sound of Music’, ‘Dream Lover’, ‘Priscilla, Queen of the Desert’, ‘Matilda’ and been responsible for casting Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘School of Rock’ in Australia. If there’s someone who understands the process of auditioning for children or beginners, it is Natalie.

Joined by Musical Director, Amanda Hodder, Natalie will guide you through the do’s and don’ts of audition rooms, how to control your nerves, choose appropriate material and be your best under pressure!

TIME: 2.30pm - 5.30pm

WHO: Natalie Gilhome & Amanda Hodder

COST: $35 Full / $25 Student

John will join with Tyran Parke to share a range of techniques that allow you to find a range of characters within.

TIME: 2pm - 5pm
