Nathan Wheldon

Nathan made his musical theatre debut back in 2003 in Launceston College’s production of Copacabana (Tony). Since then, Nathan has performed lead roles in Footloose (Reverend Shaw), Launceston Musical Society’s Rent (Roger), Encore Theatre Company’s productions of Jesus Christ Superstar (Judas), We Will Rock You (Galileo), and just recently, Nathan played Tick/Mitzi in Encore’s 2023 production of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

Nathan first made a name for himself in the Tasmanian music scene when his original band, Nathan Wheldon & The Two Timers, performed at Falls Festival (Marion Bay) in 2007 and 2008. The band released several records over the next eight years, toured extensively, enjoyed slots at numerous festivals and received airplay on Triple J and other national radio stations. Nathan is now currently a member of Captain O’Brien’s Craic, a Celtic punk-rock band and can often be found ‘rocking-out’ in pubs and at festivals across the state.
